Would you get into 6.5 Grendel in 2024?

Thinking about building a 18-20" Grendel. Will be shooting with my son at a local 1000 yard range and was thinking of building a upper for those ranges. I see stuff out there for Grendel but it sure doesn't seem to have taken off quite like 300 blackout or similar. Is it worth the squeeze?

I like mine, Howa Mini sporter barrel in a CF stock. Was built to be a light/low recoil deer rifle for 250 yds in.

With factory Hornady Black, I was getting a 6” group at 500M with a Leupold 2-7x33. One friend is shooting 1k benchrest and being competitive with the Grendel.

I like my kids howa mini. It's a light recoiling deer rifle. The bolt has a pretty zipper feel to it until I had it cerakoted.
