Looking to purchase a Griffin Armament explorr 300 for my 300blkout, 6.8spc and my 223/556 rifles. I will eventually get dedicated cans but for now a 30 cal can due to hunting first. They offer the taper mount and utility mount. Is it worth the extra 100ish bucks for the utility mount can or go taper mount. Gonna grab two hammer comps as well. If anyone has any advice on which can to get will be appreciated.

I would say it depends on if you’re invested in a particular brand of muzzle devices. Personally, I like the idea of one less set of threads to come loose, regardless how unlikely they are to come loose. But if you already have a bunch of muzzle devices for another brand, it might be worth it to you to buy the utility mount. But if everything will end up with dedicated suppressors, I wouldn’t worry about standardizing muzzle devices.

I went with the one with the HUB, even though I use their Taper Mount muzzle devices. Hard to say it was or wasn’t worth the extra money. The first time I decide I want to put it onto a different system, it will have been worth it. Until then….
