I've been buying and selling on Gunbroker for quite a while now and .... here are some helps and hints for the idiots out there using Gunbroker to buy and/or sell things.
IF YOU ARE A SELLER
IF YOU ARE A BUYER
In either case, please, don't be an idiot!
Here, let me help some reading this.
Yes, we know you don't like Gunbroker and never use it.
Yes, we know you have had bad experiences on Gunbroker.
Yes, we know you have never had a problem on Gunbroker.
But if you use Gunbroker, make life easier on yourself and all concerned by following these simple procedures.
IF YOU ARE A SELLER
- Fully describe what you are selling, every single specification, serial number, model number, etc.
- Explain precisely when you bought it: new, or used, and if you are the original owner.
- PICTURES ... take a LOT OF PICTURES.
- Show close up images of every last inch of the firearm you are selling.
- Make sure the photos are IN FOCUS and well lit.
- Make your terms and conditions very clear.
- Yes, accept PayPal, don't be an idiot, it is the 21st century, I'm not impressed by your "anti-PayPal" stance.
- Make it easier for potential buyers to buy something from you.
IF YOU ARE A BUYER
- Read the listing's terms and conditions. No really, read them.
- Follow them. Do what they say.
- If you have a question ask BEFORE you bid, not after you won the auction.
- Don't assume your FFL accepts shipments from private parties (some are morons and don').
- Read the terms and conditions again..make sure you understand them.
- If you win, respond immediately to emails and contact from the seller.
- Pay right away.
- Do not ignore messages and then a day or so later say, "Oh, I'm waiting to hear from my FFL"
In either case, please, don't be an idiot!
