I was having an interesting chat with a company today that offers protection on boats around the world and particually in the gulf of Aden .
They were compaining how hard it was to fit out their teams with proper tacticle arms due to different countries arms policys when in port , they have to utilize hunting type rifles .

Also they cant just shoot at the pirates as they appoach -wait to be fired upon or risk getting screwed over by the LAW.

Re: Guns and International waters

I'm going to invent, if one doesn't exist already, a submersible gun storage un it.

I have a friend who has a 45' sailboat and he has the same problem, he puts them in a few trash bags and ties a buoy to them before going into port.

PVC container of some sort...drop overboard, small 6" buoy, record GPS location and retrieve later.

I'm already working on an inflation device for outboard motors, I may actually file a patent on it.

one cant deny that after see the west africans give a chimp and ak47 which it later used on them .Now on the boats though -it is a known problem that pirates raid these traveling vessels yet they cannot adequetly arm themselves for defence OMFG it sounding like a policy straight out of New Zealand house defence or should I say lack of ability to have a defence .The guys are having to pack hunting rifles so as not to appear to be able to protect themselves ??? Ive said this before -there is an evil in the world and I am sure our ex priminister Helen Clarke is the 3IC of of this evil
