Anyone been to this? If so please let me know if this is the class I'm looking for or if you recommend another. I'm in California so it's easier to drive to Gunsite than fly to Rifles ONly, but I can do either based on recommendations.

I've done precision rifle classes with TacPro and ITTS. Looking for solid basics out to 1,000. Not looking for tactics or fieldcraft, just want to get a much stronger understanding/ability for dialing dope, reading wind, and getting precise at distance with .308.

Thanks in advance.

That is actually a new class for this year. I took its predecesor last year, the 7 day version. They were still talking about this class at the time so I dont know exactly what they dropped to shorten but it sounds like mostly the things you werent interested in, the fieldcraft (we actually did 2 stalks though not to any real standard since no one had any proper cammo).

I thought it was a good class, the furthest shots were to about 900y (though there are targets further out on many of the ranges the class is shot on, they arent targets intended for that course of fire) with the majority falling around 400-600. The emphesis on the range sessions was on identifying (targets in the shade, targets the same color as their background, partially hidden), ranging and wind correction on unknown distance targets. One of the things that I liked that may have been a casualty of the shortening were "unusual situation" shoots (though things completely practical) such as shooting through glass, low light, with a suppressed weapon, under pressure etc.

I have seen instructor from my class post here before, maybe he will pop up.

I've never done rifles only, its on my to to list.
