Does anybody know of a reputable gunsmith around Corpus Christi or in the Valley? I am looking for somebody that can inlet and install CDI bottom metal on a Remington 700 XCR Tactical Long Range.

I do go to San Antonio often and I can go to Brownsville or Cotulla. I just wanted to hear some personal recommendations from some of you guys on here before I took it anywhere. I appreciate the input guys. Sergio: sure pm me the number if you don't mind.

get ready to drop some serious cash as Dury's......... can't comment on the work because I didn't accept his quote for the service.

+1 I walked out also ...
got quoted almost $300 to thread my rifle for my suppressor , After an interrogation WHY I needed one ? which is none of their business , then they could not give me a turnaround time !!
sent it to GAP and had it back in less than 2 weeks

there is a guy up in Bulverde I've talked to and he seem to know his shit and doesn't have stupid prices.... I'll see if I can round his info up

Jim Stewart is an awesome smith. I have seen his rifles that he builds and WOW . He makes the stocks to setting up the barrel. Great guy, very easy to talk to. Call in the mornings as he's in the shop most afternoon

Instead of recommending someone I need to warn you about a particular builder....

I had a few rifles worked on by him and had multiple problems. I dont want to get into them here again but it was bad. Had to lawyer up in order to get my property back. He held my rifle for 11 months claiming I never paid him for work performed on another rifle. I had to produce an electric copy of the check cashed by him. It was horrible ordeal.
