I have a Kreiger 224 MTU profile barrel blank.
Anyone recommend a good gunsmith or company that can turn it into an AR15 20" barrel? Install the barrel extension, gas port, etc. Thanks in advance.

That would be a huge amount of precision work to turn it down ( everywhere) locate the pin /extension/gas port. It would be cheaper and most likely more successful to sell the MTU and buy an AR barrel.

Isn't that how AR barrels are made in the first place? From a barrel blank?

Give Paul Ross a call or text, just tell him I sent you and he'll do you a solid deal.

If you're not familiar with Paul Ross he was the Head Barrel Smith at Compass Lake, he worked there for over 20 years.

If you've ever read any of my Reviews or Range Reports, Paul has made just about every Custom Barrel that I've shown on the Hide.

Paul Ross and Paul Craddock are the only two people I allow to turn my barrels.

Yea, but all at once. If he does it this way, I'm afraid he'll be paying dearly, once for Kreiger to do all their work to it, and yet another person to do I think probably another 300 dollars of work to it whereas if you buy it already done all at once, all the time and set up work is all already factored into the original selling price.
A good AR barrels like what, 500? This kreiger was probably 420 now, then another 300 to convert it to what is now a potentially 720 dollar ar15 barrel.
I got a good mcgowen stainless AR barrel for 410 bucks. I'd sell that kreiger and use that money to just get a AR barrel already done.
