Gunsmithing an Aluminum Bedding Block

I have CZ 527 (223) in an HS precision stock with an aluminum bedding block. The rifle has always had trouble feeding from the factory CZ 5 round magazines, especially the last round. Can the existing aluminum bedding block be re-milled to either lower the action or raise the bottom metal to accommodate better feeding?

Seems like it should be possible. I would first look at the mag retention latch to see if there was some way to modify or replace it to hold the magazine a little higher.

If you were to send in a Manners stock, they would remove the pillars before inletting. You would then need to put in new ones.

The stock is an H-S Precision.
The stock has no pillars. It has an actual bedding block made from 6061-T6 aluminum.
Drilling the block out and installing pillars isn't the answer.

I would recommend first trying a different magazine. If that doesn't work, then look at how the magazine goes/fits into the bottom metal as pointed out above.

Spitballing here:
Is the ceracoating original?
If not, did you have this issue prior to coating?
Maybe the coating raised the receiver in the block by a couple thousands and lowered the bottom metal the same, causing just enough gap to create the issue.

If you're gonna mill something off, do it from the bottom metal side. It would just be a thin flat cut.
