I had my heart set on the McMillan A-3 stock for my new coyote rifle build but was told it's not availiable with savage's new bottom metal. I can get bottom metal that will work with my action and the A-3 but it's expensive ($500) I don't mind paying but only if there is a good chance it will feed.

Cartridge is a .220 Swift Ackley Improved. So if anybody has built rifles using the AI Magazines. What are my chances it will feed? I am really hoping it will but have my doubts.

Thanks in advance

Jason

check with Jeff at CDI, he might make DBM for Savages. I know they use AI mags, I have his DBM with 10 rd AI mag. His prices are great and he'll inlet stock for you.

Thanks I am in Canada and only have the one option availiable right now. I am just hoping that someone might have the knowledge if it will work or not. (hard I know without the cartridge and mag infront of you)

The 220 Swift case being a semi-rimmed case is going to be hard er to get it to feed right in a DBM. Can it be done, sure, the Brits got the 303 to feed from a mag box, so anything is possible.

Too bad you did not go the 22-250 AI route, easier cat to skin.

But a 220 Swift AI is a thornier beast. I don't who could do such work, but CDI might be your only bet. If your in Canukistan, perhaps giving Elwood Epps a call?
