H S Precision Stock Questions....

Anyone have experience with the HS M24 adjustable series stocks? Looking to replace a non adjustable HS with the fully adjustable series -PST 006,007,0093 models. Wondering how solid the cheek piece is once adjusted up to fit??? I like the HS stocks themselves just not sure how solid their adjustments are. Input from anyone who has or had one would be great.

I had an HS PST025 with the adjustable cheek and I didn't particularly like the design of it. Mine ended up breaking without any significant rough handling. The rounded piece your cheek rest on started to separate from the framing it attached to resulting in some wiggle in the piece. To HS's credit, I called, sent just the cheek piece in to them and they sent me another free of charge. I used the new one until I sold the gun without issue.
With all that being said, the stock was very comfortable to shoot and very stable. I still use HS stocks but use a triad pack instead now.

seems you and I are hitting on the same issues only several years apart. I started out with a HS M24 type stock and found it to be uncomfortable to shoot behind and then I got to work with a Manner's T4A that a friend had...well, it was comfortable and the ergonomics were very nice. I have since sold my two HS Precision stocks and went with almost all Manner's stocks minus one McMillan.

So you had a bad one and then a good one it sounds like. Ive used the model with the adjustable LOP but never handled one with the adjustable cheek. As I said I really like the stocks By HS, just want to be sure the cheek rest is not easily depressed inadvertently. Im assuming by the lack of responses that these stocks are not as popular as the Manners/McMillan stocks. Definitely going to try one of those for the next build, but this is an M24 clone project. Any others got firsthand experience with this type of HS???

I have three of the fully adjustable stocks 1 PST025 ( SA ) and 2 PST026 ( LA ), and they have been great for me. I have tried other stocks and for me the HS fit and feel was better. Try some stocks if possible to find what works best for you. I just had a custom 6.5x55 built using the PST026, and love it.

I have the vertical grip model of stock that you are talking about. I like this stock a lot, feels good, fits me very well. Having said that, the adjustable cheek piece is starting to crack a bit where it attaches to its mount. I have a Tac Ops stock pack on it now and that seems to stopped the separation. As far as everything else with the stock, i would buy one again. One thing that i like about HS stocks, are the over sized palm swell. I've seen a couple guys say they think the HS palm swell is obnoxious, but I find it comfortable. I had a couple of the non-adjustable model on two different rifle as well. They where also a great stock, i sold one of them to fund the adjustable one. That rifle has a 56mm obj scope and i found my self craning my neck up to get my sight picture. I say, if you want to try one, try it. Just because its not popular, doesn't mean it's not a good product.

Thanks all for the replies. Sounds like decent reviews on this model. Im fond of the palm swell as well, actually the best feature to me. The neck craning issue is another reason for the adjustable stock. Got a new NF NXS with a 56mm obj- it will kill you shooting prone for very long. Great glass just need a little more stock I think. So you run a stock pack over the adjustable cheek? How about a pic for reference if you've got one.

V V V V What he said. Like the feel of my current stock and it shoots well. Even with a stock pack though, it just does not have quite enough in the cheek to prevent neck pains while prone. Just gonna find one and try it out I think.

here is my gun as she stands now...It has a Karston cheek piece, an Eagle pack and for the extra LOP to make it out to 16 inch, I added a Tubb 4 way piece and tilted it about 15* counter clockwise, and dropped it about .25 inches
