Half luck half skill 100 yrd ground hog shot with mark 2

So tonight I was hunting with my brother and I had a mark 2 with a pac lite upper on it. We where hunting ground hogs and pulled into the field. As we got out of the truck my brother says hey there is a ground hog out by the tree. I said what the hell and took a shot at it. Heard the smack back and watched the ground hog do the tail wag of death. I was shooting Remington sub sonic. I estimated the shot at about 80 yards. I have logged about 30,000 rounds through this mark 2 and I shoot a lot 25-50-75-100 yards with my pistol. I knew if I aimed head High I should be able to hit him.

When I got home, I google Earthed the shot, it said 97 yards.

I do shoot a lot at that distance with this gun, just in the right place at the right time. It was a great night hunting.

Absolutely believeable, especially if you shoot a pistol much beyond 50yds. Guys in IHMSA do it every weekend. A small bore ram at 100yds is certainly smaller than a groundhog.

Well last night I got about a 35 yard shot on a ground hog laying down, of course I missed this shot. He took off like a bat out of hell, and I got him on the run. He made it into his hole, but I know he is dead. I think I am putting up the 22-250 and going to the mark 2 for now on. This is becoming really fun.
