Not that I'm a "let's share our feelings" kind of guy, but here goes . . .
I had a heart attack recently at the ripe old age of 33, and, well, things haven't been too easy for me since. I mean sure, I have the wife looking after me like a good woman should (which can be a bit overbearing at times to be sure), but I freak out about everything and how it might affect my heart. I look at the things that I love doing, hiking in particular, and cringe at the thought of a repeat performance with my heart while miles away from the nearest cell phone signal. There are times when I am hyper-sensitive to every heart beat for hours on end which only serves to make things worse.
So today I went to the reloading bench.
I'm new to reloading, in fact this was but my second session at the bench, but it proved to be as therapeutic as anything I can think of. It's not hard or stressful (short of popping a primer which may be the opposite of what I would need right now), but methodical and requires a level of concentration sufficient to take my mind of my ticker, which is exactly what I need right now. Thanks to those who have shared your knowledge on the board to help me get started with something that may be good for me as well as my shooting.
On the interesting end of things, I am in the midst of some load development for my .308 LTR. I started at the middle velocity load listed in the Sierra book, and am working up .3 - .4 grains at a time, 20 of each. I loaded 60 tonight.
