Just kind of throwing this out there to see if there is any interest. I was looking at buying a Area 419 or RRS Harris arca Adapter but just couldn't justify the cost. I was able to come up with an arca clamp that works with my Harris SLM and I believe with most other sling stud bipods as well. Is this something worth putting together as a kit with some instructions as a cheaper alternative. Think anyone would be interested and if so at what price. If I am off base don't flame me just let me know.

I am sure there's more than one person who added an ARCA plate or switched to a chassis and is left wondering what to do with their Harris sling swivel one that isn't excited about dropping $100 or so on an adaptor.

$100 for the RRS adapter, assuming you are otherwise happy with your Harris bipod, is cheap in comparison to most alternative bipods in the market. If, however, you are looking to upgrade your bipod, that money may be better saved and poured into a more feature rich alternative.

This is probably a good way to eek the last bit of life from a Harris that is on the way out. But, for me, the RRS solution was/is the right solution for a Harris that is sticking around for the long haul.

Seeing as I regularly and routinely throw my 20+lb fancy rifle down onto its bipod, $100 for a solid connection that lets me use that piece of gear as intended without much worry of it failing, in the end, is worth it.

It hurts up front, but there aren't exactly a bunch of shops turning out every little widget we need in this very niche sport, there's usually like 1 or 2, sometimes 3 options, so sometimes if you want it, you've got to pay what they're asking.

If something one MacGyver's together saves them a few bucks and works perfectly without compromise, then awesome. But, if not ponying up a couple of extra bucks ends up ruining a 2-day match that you spent $500+ all-in on to shoot... it'll be a long, sad ride home.

Personally, for most stuff, I actually like my Harris BRMS with RRS BC-PRO far better than any of the other Atlas/MDT/Accu-Tac options... and if you consider I'd need to replace it with a $415 TBAC bipod (and still have to buy an $80 ARCA/Pic rail clamp) to do most of the same tricks, depending on how you look at, ~$200 for a Harris + adapter/clamp ain't too bad.

Interesting idea! Creating a budget-friendly arca clamp kit for sling stud bipods could find a niche market. Gauge interest by asking potential buyers about their price range and needs.
