Windex, yep you heard me, using Windex during barrel break-in. I purchased my Dad a new Howa 1500 Supreme Varminter in 22-250 that he wanted, and upon reading the Howa instructions for barrel break-in they said to use Windex after each subsequent patching of copper solvent to dry up the oil in the barrel. Anyway, we spent almost 6 hours at the range today with the rifle, and we were burning 45 grainers at 4000 fps with very nice groups to show for during break-in. Many shots were on top of the next, and it was a fun gun to shoot. I have to say I was very impressed with the Howa.
