Rifle Scopes Have a 700P and need rings, Leu. Mk4 rings work?

Hey all,

I have a 700P .308 and need scope rings for a 44mm objective. I wanted a set of Larue rings on a 1pc mount but will have to settle for something a bit cheaper and was thinking of the Leupold MK4 rings to cut down costs a little but still get a quality set of rings.

I'm holding out for a Vortex Viper 2.5-10x44mm, which has a 30mm tube so those rings should work right?

There's no weaver mounts on the top of the receiver, just the screws that I have to remove to install the bases.

What particular height rings would I need?

Mark IV's are not cheap rings, if you buy Mark IV base and rings you will spend almost as much as the Larue's. It all depends on what you want, I would urge you to pay once and cry once.

In reference to ring height, Mark IV mediums are lower than LT-719's, the difference comes in the base height. Medium rings will work fine with a 44 mm objective, just make sure you have the approriate rings for the tube, either 30mm or 1".
