Having trouble with MOA calculator and scope in inches

I have a gun with a scope that has 1/4 inch clicks and not MOA. My question is that if my ballistics calculator says I need to come up 19.89 MOA does that mean I dial 18.99 inches on the scope (Because 1MOA is 1.047 inches.) or do I have to dial how much the bullet actually drops which is 145.77 inches. (19.89 x 1.047) x 7 (7 indicating 700 yards in this case) in which case I don't have the adjustment for. Thanks in advance I really appreciate it!

Oh, ok.. That is not a go to for me. It is really clunky to use. But I download it for my 22LR Center X, but only out to 100 with mil. I never payed attention to the "clicks" But it only looks correct in mrad.

Mrad

What I see is something like this "if" I switch the unites to Under <Sight Correction> to "in/100yd".

Inches

Mind you I am not sure what you are seeing, weirdly the app will show 27 clicks for the MOA setting and 31 for the inches. 31 X .25" per click 1/4"@100 = 7.75 conversely, 27 x .26175" per click (MOA)@100 = 7.06725 but this is if I have .25 MOA selected in rifle..

MOA

Again, I hardly ever use this app, because it has a very weird interface, but something looks wrong as you mentioned.. Long story short either we have an input jacked, misunderstanding the out put or it is messed up.

So I too am am waiting for the smarter guys to figure out what was did wrong..

Divers pix I think has the answer your looking for.
Between moa and inches screen the clicks seem appropriate.
What has not changed is the moa drop.
The app is giving the mrad and moa as a reference and calculated the clicks of your scope.

Doesn't matter just dial in the clicks and squeeze.

If your scope is 1/4” per click, set your app Settings to “in/100yd” for Elevation and Windage.

Additionally, edit your Rifle/Cartridge data and enter “0.25” for Elevation and Windage click value. While entering data on click value confirm this screen shows grayed out units are set to “in/100yd.”

Your app should now show how many mils, MOA, and number of clicks needed to make the correction using your indicated scope system (in your case, number of 1/4” clicks).

Anyhow, that is my understanding of how this application should work. In the end, one must believe the target!

The only problem seems to be the huge 13% difference in click value between the MOA snd IPHY. It should be closer to 4.5% from my math..

I hear MOA-MOA and I think of some kind of food..shooters MOA and I think big bellies and a bench, IPHY and think airsoft; not a real scope any more ;) ...... So my math might be rusty..

Honestly, i’d trash the app.. other apps will be closer to 4.5%

19.89 moa is 145.77381 inches @ 700yds, 1moa = 1.047, 19.89moa X 1.047 = 20.82483" inches X 7 = 145.77381" inches. If the solution says 19.89moa then that's what you should adjust to.

If your scope is in IPHY then you need to dial in 20.824 " which is 83 clicks which is equal to 20.750" if it has 1/4" clicks.

If that is not working then something is not set correctly.

Diver, I agree. Played with app some more after I posted and did not feel comfortable with the differences in the numbers being put out by the app either.

Differences point to something else going on beyond rounding errors. I find the user interface a bit clunky so never really used it much after downloading it.

Maybe a scetchy app, get another.
I have 3 and they stay within 1 click of each other pretty much.
Unfortunatly they are all android.
