I'm just glad for all of us that I don't have a gang of such incidents to report: http://www.philly.com/philly/wires/ap/ne...ntofriends.html

How do you make up to the little woman for having shot her in the ass?

at the risk of getting flamed for bashing a "professional" leo, this officer needs, at a minimuim, a TOTAL redo of his firearms training. no paycheck for doing it and HE pays for the retrain. he obviously did not pay close enough attention the first time. for shooting the wife he will burn "in hell" for the next eon. may god have mercy, the wife shouldn't. idiot!

A Harrisburg police officer accused of shooting his wife in the buttocks was charged today with several counts related to the Memorial Day weekend incident.

(The Officer) was charged with simple assault, reckless endangerment and making false reports to police.

According to Dauphin County District Attorney Edward M. Marsico Jr., the Officer initially told police he wasn't sure how his wife was wounded and believed she may have been hit by a stray bullet about 6 p.m. Saturday. However, upon further questioning, (the Officer) admitted shooting his wife while showing off his service weapon to friends, Marsico said.

(The Officer) fired more than one round, with one hitting his wife, according to Marsico.

Marsico said (the officer), who has been placed on unpaid leave, was drinking at the time. "We see time and time again ... people who are under the influence do stupid things with guns," Marsico said during press conference this morning at the county courthouse. "To have something like this ... it ultimately puts a black mark not just on (That Officer) but police in general."

I won't deny that every once-in-a-while I have met a fully competent and professional firearm handler/trainer. But such is not the 'norm', up here at least.

I'm a cop and I can attest to the fact that this is not the case. Once saw a guy hit the mag release on his AR while on a job. Mag fell to the ground and I just hung my head in disappointment.
