I just got my hBN bullet coating kit from David Tubb and I wanted to try it on some Nosler Partitions I have. Problem is, I only have 50 of them. The instructions for the kit say to fill the bottle 2/3 with bullets and 50 only fill the bottle about 1/4. Will it work properly with that few bullets?

I'm not sure if the 2/3 recommendation has more to do with making the most of a scoop of hBN OR if the bottle needs to be that full in order to properly coat the bullets?

Separate question: Can ballistic tipped bullets be cleaned with acetone or will acetone damage the polymer tips?

You could always mix other bullets on hand to get to the 2/3ds , the 2/3ds recommendation is for economy and dispersion of the material as you will be wasting HBN on a rag to get the bullets looking right . I would not use acetone on plastic tipped bullets . The tips of the nosler partitions will most likely be slightly deformed as they are soft lead , you can always uniform then with a twist through some sand paper if you like .
