I am building a 6.5 Creedmoor AR and am having issues w/headspace. I bought a Ballistic Advantage Premium 22 inch heavy profile barrel from E. Arthur Brown with the bolt as they recommended. I put the rifle together and noticed it wouldn't close on new brass (Norma 6.5 and Hornady 6.5), I was just trying the bolt on the barrel. Even when I wasn't planning on it went ahead and checked the headspace. Took the ejector out of the bolt and used a set of Forster Gauges and it wouldn't close on the GO gauge (it obviously doesn't close on the NO GO or the Field ones either). I also tried w/a DPMS bolt I had and it wouldn't close either. So that it seems to me the chamber is too short or the barrel extension is too tight.
Has anyone encountered this before ? If so, any ideas as to what to do? Am I missing something? I will call E.Arthur Brown tomorrow and see if they can help.
Thanks
