My Peltor Tac100 headset is coming apart, signaling time for a new pair.
I like to wear basic soft foam plugs with amplified earmuffs.

most interested in clarity and good sound suppression (which includes quick recovery after each shot)

    Any recommendations appreciated.

I went with Otto - in ear protection. The outer ear protection always gets in my way.

my issue with many types of hearing protection is how they fit me when im down on the rifle. Muffs get in the way of the comb. the home made "custom fit" plugs no longer seal when i make a cheek weld. The foam ear plugs are the only hearing protection devices, that i have personally used, that maintain a seal when i apply a cheek weld.

C R, I also have some of the very quiet custom molded in ear plugs. Same problem on the comb, plus if I open my mouth very much one of them unseals a little to let sound in. That’s not a problem with thin muffs or foam ear plugs.
