I wished Glock offered something comparable, but I am focused on these right now. I like the hellcat because I like that a red dot can be added easy, but I have been told, the sig is more accurate, better trigger, and fits in the hand better.

Thoughts?

Personally I like the way the P365 feels and looks.
I've seen a hellcat as well and it's nice, but my personal preference is the SIG
If you want a red dot, then get the P365XL and see if you can find a Romeo Zero which is the perfect size to fit in the pre-milled plate spot.

Both are nice options and both will probably work well.

I'd suggest you go handle all three (P365, P365XL and Hellcat) at a local gun store and make your decision.

One may just fit your hand so much better than the other.

A buddy brought a Sig P365 to the range a few months ago. The P365 had a decent trigger & it was very accurate. Headshots on a TQ-15 were boring at 25 yards.

The downside was that in the 150 or so rounds we fired, we also experienced a half dozen failures-to-feed. The rounds would nose-dive into the feed ramp forcing IA. I’m not sure if it was ammo issue, etc but this is also a sample size of 1.

I have carried a Shield for years, and first got my hands on a Hellcat last week and rented one at my local range. It beats the Shield hands down in very way. And it was a tack driver. I haven't tried the 365 yet, but I'm tempted to get the Hellcat they had there with the Shield red dot optic on it for $789. Pictured below are 2 5-shot groups at 15 feet.

Saw on another forum that people have already bought p365xl rx- it comes with a sig mini redot already installed for about $679. That sig redot has motion activation for power up and power off, and adjustable brightness which the Shield brand optic doesn't have.

I have a 365 and love it, I have not had an opportunity to try a hellcat out yet........but I do prefer sig over springfield as a company....

I'm of the same mind because of what a guy posted at another forum about the owner of Springfield's shady bribery and fraud crimes in the late 80s in a gun sales scheme to another country and his political donations for years to Democratic politicians who are against guns in his state. Plus what he and Springfield did two years ago that pissed off a huge load of Illinois gun shops and the general gun buying public. Lots have sworn off Springfield unless he and his family sell the company.

The range I frequent had a 365 for rent. Bought a box of Remington FMJ's.
50 rounds and never a bobble.
Hit everything I pointed it at, at 50 yards (I did rest my writs on a bag shooting at the 10" plate at 50, the torso target didn't have a prayer offhand)
Trigger and feel were awesome.
Guess I'll be getting a 365 instead of a 938.............

I went back to that range and fired both of them, for a total of 100 rounds through each.

Hellcat shot better/more accurate, but my trigger finger dragged on the guard and I have small hands. It was annoying. The trigger requires more force, but brakes cleaner than the 365 which has takeup and then a mushy squeeze. Hellcat was more crisp. Hellcat had better ergo, with the stippling up front. Hellcat slide failed the stay back 3 times the second day I shot it. Hellcat has a snappier recoil impulse.

Sig 365 had better/lighter recoil impulse, more generous trigger guard, and I think the trigger is technically better - well maybe not. In any case I could not hold as tight groups with it as the above ones shot with the hellcat.

In the end, the experience helped point out each guns weaknesses and I decided screw it, I'll keep my S&W M&P shield until, inevitably, other models are released from other manufacturers and I can try them.

I shot the S&W Shield 2.0 today & I must say that I was very impressed. In short, it had a very good factory trigger, recoil was very tame & the gun was surprisingly accurate. The pistol is chambered in 9 MM.

It’s a buddy’s pistol so I only put about 50 rounds down range. I could see the laser well at 15 yards on steel but not at all at 50 yards. In the pistol’s defense it was around noon on a sunny Texas day. Under these circumstances I won’t hold against the pistol.

I shot the sub-compact 2.0 at 15 & 50 yards. At 15 yards we used a 66% IPSC target & absolutely no problems putting them all on steel. Moving back to 50 yards we used a TQ-15 target. I put five of the last six rounds in the 5 ring & dropped one. That
Was my fault & called it as soon as it happened.

That’s not bad shooting for such a small gun. I’d have no problem owning one based upon my initial impressions. Bear in mind this gun was brand new today w/ no lube at all. We did have one malfunction but it was an ammo issue; the primer dented but failed to ignite.
