Dear Sniper's Hide Community!

My name is Mario and I am from Austria. Firearm laws are not as nice as in the States but I am trying to do the best I can here. I do shoot a lot of IPSC ( I believe you call it USPSA) with my 9mm CZ, I do own a Benelli M2 and an AR15.

My latest acquisition is a Remington M700 SPS Varmint in .308 with a Harris bipod. I just ordered myself the Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 in FFP and MRAD with the EBR1 reticle, which will be mounted on a 20MOA base.

I have never used a long rifle before nor a scope before. I would appreciate some help with my calculations here. (NOTE: as a european I am using the metric system, so please have that in mind!)

here are my notes so far:

1mrad = 1cm at 100m
1MOA = 0.29mrad
a 20 MOA base would equal 5.82mrads

since I am getting a brand new scope, I assume that the scope settings are set right in the middle ( max elev 19mrads and max windage 19mrads; so it would be set at 9,5 and 9,5 )

because of the 20MOA base I would have to dial the elevation DOWN 5.82mrads. On the Viper PST 1click equals .1mrad and I complete turn is 5mrads.

So in order to compensate for the 20MOA at 100m I would have to do 1 complete turn und then 8 more clicks to get the right hold, is that correct?

thanks a lot :D
