Hello everyone, my name is Reuben. I’m 40 year old Transmission builder, father of six. I recently picked up a CVA scout take down v2 and 300 blackout. I’ve made some hand loads and shot some factory subsonics, but I cannot get this gun to group better than 1.5 inches at 50 yards. Sometimes not even that good. I’m hoping somebody in here has had the same experience and can point me in the right direction. Let me know where to post this in the forum. Thank you.

Hey Reubone,

I can’t speak much as far as the rifle itself, but it may help to post some of the bullet weights/powders you’ve tried. 1.5” at 50 yards would be disappointing. A quick search of that model says it’s a 1-8 twist. Also, are you shooting it suppressed?

I’m sure you have, but before I got into the weeds of the ammunition too much, I would check to make sure the scope base and rings were tight and you’re confident there are no issues with the optic (particularly if you bought it used or a package deal from a store). Also, check that the action is torqued correctly to the stock. If used or depending on the powder/bullet combo, the barrel may need a good cleaning.

Again, I don’t know much about that rifle or the accuracy expectation, bu hopefully some of this might help or someone else can chime in.

Best of luck,
Nathan
