Hello from New Zealand

Kia Ora (Hello) from New Zealand.

I'm a FTR target shooter who as got into the sport at an older (50+) age.
Just about to start my 3rd season of shooting.

Because I'm blind in one eye I shoot left handed on right handed rifles !!!

Always interested to read what others are doing and to learn from others.
Shooters are great for sharing what works and doesn't work.

I started with a standard Savage Model 12 VLP DBM in 223, 26" 1:7 twist barrel, shooting 80 gr A-Max out to 1000 yards.
Now I have 2x 308 rifles I have assembled using Barnard 'P' actions, 32' 1:10 TrueFlite barrels, handmade stocks, Nightforce optics, Seb Joypod Bipod.

I've been shooting 155 gr Lapua Scenar in Lapua Palma cases with 44.5 gr Varget. Looking to move upto 185 gr projectiles.

My local ranges shoot 300-900 yards and 300-700 yards.

Spent a year in NZ a ways back, some things I remember;

Red Lion wasn't too bad.....
How to wear shorts when it's 15 degrees outside (fahrenheit) and like it.....
That I didn't like Wheat Bix.....
How expensive Harleys are there....
That a complete stranger would loan you their car....
That NZ & the US are two English speaking countries divided by a comman language.....
Where the hell did all the ketchup disappear to....?
That the oranges from Keri Keri were unbelievable...
The "Land of the Long White Cloud" and it's people were fantastic!
