Well, since I am getting into this long range stuff (if you count 250yds long range) I figured I'd join up and learn something. I bought a Savage 111LRH in 300WM last year, and just got around to putting a scope on it a month ago. Nikon Buckmaster 6-18x40. The 5" groups at 100yds it puts out are pretty unimpressive, so I hope the 'Hide can help me figure it out. I can peg a 12" plate at 250yds with my .22 all day long though...
I am looking at another rifle to add in a couple weeks as well. I'm leaning towards a Rem 700 SPS or VTR....maybe a Savage 11FCNS, 25 Varminter-T, 11BTH, or 16FCSS. I'd also like to try .260 Rem...but might slide towards .223 or possibly .308. There's nowhere around here to shoot much past a few hundred yards without a pricy membership to get a 500yd range.
