I'm looking for info on a CZ457 build. already have MTR. I heard LI3 has 24" barrel mounted already in bolt action. any thoughts? have been looking around the net, like the MDT chassis, Timmey trigger, longer barrel, 24 to 26". looking for opinions. Thanks

What specifically are you trying to build - for what purpose? Budget? Just to be clear, you want another 457 in addition to the one you already have, right?
If so, then you might consider getting on some stores' wait lists for a bare-bones 457 American in the synthetic stock (~$450) as an action donor and buy the other bits separately. I've read good things about Lilja drop-in barrels - I have been thinking about one of those for a CZ-455 I have laying around (same barrel for 455/457) in order to build an accurate light-weight (8.5 pounds or less) sporter. By "accurate" I mean comparable to my Vudoo and Rim-X. I'd build on the Rim-X, but the action by itself is just over two pounds in weight....

We need to know your intended purpose? Building just for the sake of building or are you competing or what?

Since you're already in NC, I would suggest checking out the Modacam.
+1 for @jelrod1 to have you a barrel built for the action you already have. or pick up the cheapest CZ 457 and have him do a full build on one. He has Muller Works & Krieger Barrels for builds. He will build you a hammer if you let him do what Is needed. Johnathan has built 3 rifles for me now and all of them are amazing.

What’s the barrel length of your MTR? Iffin your gonna pull it apart, just swap someone for a standard 457 since the MTR is supposed to have just a tad better chamber that the plain version.
