Helos BTR

I recently picked up one of the new Custom Shop Ruger 10/22 Rifles at a damn good price.

Looking for a cheap optic (Under $500) to top it off and came across the Helos BTR GEN2 4-20x50 APRS6 FFP IR MIL.

I have no experience with these Scopes, but on paper it checks all the boxes and at $450 seems like a solid option.

If anyone has first hand experience with the above scope I'd love to hear your guys's experience and opinions on it.

I do not have the exact scope you are looking at, but I have two Athlon Helos scopes. I bought two (loved it) of the original(?) 8-32X Helos scopes for NRL/PRS/TBR competition on my 10/22. Unfortunately at a match the rifle was knocked over and the scope damaged. I called Athlon and I can hardly believe how fast a replacement was shipped to me. Bad news was the replacement was the next gen, which was a 6-24X, and while above 24X is not used in competition, I like to crank it up to 30X+ for ammo testing. But it is also a great scope. Based on my experience with the Helos scopes and Athlon customer service, I can recommend their Helos line, but there are quite a few excellent scopes out there that are great value scopes.

These are great scopes. Last year my HG2 4-20 replaced a SWFA 3-15 on a particular shorter rifle I've wanted to upgrade to 20x on for a decade. I like this HG2 better in nearly every way, especially the IQ vs the SWFA.
