This is the M1A mount I used to use on my M1A when mounting a thermal or NV scope.
You'll need to use a cheek rest system, as the scope or optic will sit higher than the iron sights.
Never found a stable enough extended mount to use with any dot + NV system, and I wanted a mount that would hold a relative zero with removal/install.
I ended up going with a raptor 4x scope and it was a great combo until the NY SAFE act was enacted.
Then I had to send my my M1A to PA for safe keeping, as I didn't want to neuter it.
I can second the Bassett mount if that’s where you want to mount your stuff. I have two of them and they work great for over the receiver optics.
Here‘s another idea. Not sure if it will work with a NM stock, but I’m guessing it will. A quick call or email could confirm that as it mounts to the barrel and receiver. I do not think you would need the Blackfeather stock for this rail to work and it would provide plenty of room for a multitude of optics and nv.

Alan, unless you start with something like an LRB receiver (with direct scope mounting bosses) the M14/M1A is kinda tough. You can put optics on it, but it won't be anywhere near as solid as a precision Palma rifle. The added rail height almost requires an adjustable comb or layering foam and tape (old school).
Here is a solid LRB option. You might have to replace the rail for a longer cantilever to clip a passive IR/Starlight or thermal in front of your EOTech or Aimpoint:
