After picking up the new HK MR556 and switching some optics around on 3 different builds I’ve now put an ATACR 1-8 on the HK, taken a T2 off my LMT 10.5” 300BLK build and thrown that on my SR15. I plan to add the 3x magnifier with the T2 on the SR15.

So now I’m left with irons on the 300blk. Since I’m a fan of the T2 and this rifle with be shot mostly suppressed and 100 yards or less I debated if I should get another T2 for this OR an eotech exps3. I don’t think I’d get the eotech 300blk optic because this build is the LMT MRP line so I plan to swap barrels back and forth. What do you guys think?

FYI you can consider the 300blk a truck/closet gun as well when not in use. Thanks.

I know that I am in the minority and am being an old Fudd but I like the Eotech with a 3x multiplier, that said the T2 is a great Optic (the rest of my family prefer it because it is simple).

For that price, I'd look at the Nvis Halo X50 or XRF and be content with a great scope that uses top of the line BAE gut's that performs in every type of weather condition.
Fixed focus, so you can focus on the target instead of focusing the scope.
Made right here in America too, Brilliant.

Six in one, half a dozen in the other.

What are your requirements in an optic?

Does leaving the optic on all the time matter to you?

Do you LIKE the eotech reticle and field of view?

Do you have a battery preference? 2032 versus CR123a?

Do you have a battery life requirement?

Answer those questions and just pick one.

I run the Primary Arms SLx 1-10x28 on a couple of .300 BLK bolt-actions, and it would make a great optic on an AR .300 BLK as well. It has real MRAD stadia, and 15 MILs of holdover in the tree reticle. I highly recommend it. I take my .300 subs out to 300 yards with it regularly with just holdover, no dialing, and there's plenty of drop compensation in the reticle.

Even out to 100, I like to have some magnification for seeing through dense foliage and low percentage shots. I opted for an ACOG TA11.

I've never been wild about red dots and magnifiers. If it works for you, roll with it. I just don't think that the T2 is as head and shoulders above the competition like it used to be. Honestly, were I in the market for a red dot, I think I'd be leaning toward a Romeo4 XT or Pro.

I bought two of the XT pro's and absolutely hated them.

The notch filter is extremely apparent and the LED emitter caused weird halo's in the glass. Not a fan. I went to the sig experience shoot and had the same observations across multiple guns. My cheap ass Holosun 403r's don't have this issue.

While I get that Eotech is the king of CQB, the battery life blows. I don’t want to be changing batteries every couple of months on a home defense rifle. If the T2 works for you, I’d go that route. Add a 3x magnifier and you’re done. The LPVO is an interesting option, but probably overkill for a closet gun. I don’t have a use for a truck gun, but that use case might make the LPVO more interesting, depending upon the expected targets.

Yeah, I prefer the Romeo 4t also.
