Anybody can give some suggestions about which brand of Case cleaning Tumbler is best in terms of item quality
I am looking at Lyman Turbo 1200 and RCBS currently.

cheers

Re: Help for case cleaning Tumbler

I have a Dillon, RCBS and a Lyman. Out of the three I would recommend the Dillon first, RCBS second and the Lyman third.

The Dillon is quiet, has a good lid, switch on the cord, well shaped bowl and it cleans like no other.

Re: Help for case cleaning Tumbler

Have had Lyman (2200 and 3200 autoflo), Dillon (cv-500) and Thumlers (UV-18 Ind).

Thumlers hands down!

Re: Help for case cleaning Tumbler

That's the rotary model Thumlers (Model B, not UV). It you use the SS media in the vibratory model, it will jam like nothing you have ever seen.

Agreed about the rotary with SS media though. I even don't own a vibrating tumbler anymore... But, many will never try that method of cleaning since it involves water.

Re: Help for case cleaning Tumbler

I've got a Dillon cv-500 - does the job nicely...

Dillon replaced one that someone gave me with a burned out motor- Switchblade Has (had?) that one...

Awesome customer service too.

Grab a tad of their case polish and put in there, brass comes out looking like brand new.

Re: Help for case cleaning Tumbler

I bought a Lyman in '85. It lasted 23 years, sometimes running non-stop for 24 hours. Bought another about 10 years ago; still going. I have a very large Lyman my wife found at a yard sale about six years ago. No idea how old, but it will easily hold 1500 5.56 cases. Picked up a Midway about eight years ago for $10.00.

Messy is that Lyman's Walnut with the Rogue! That Red shit gets on everything!

Re: Help for case cleaning Tumbler

The green shit is just as bad... trace amounts of both are also being blown down your tube with each shot you fire. And the dust still gets all over your finger (and in your dies), if not from the media, then from the powder residue from cleaning the necks and primer pockets.

That SS stuff or ultrasonic is definitely the way to go.

True! The Green Shit sucks too!

I only use the SS media, Water, and soap method!

I have a Vibratory tumbler that I picked up on sale at Harbor Freight for $40. I use it with corn cob to get sizing lube off and that is it.
