I'm sure that the upper assembly is all one package and hasn't been added to at all. It has a square symbol just behind the ejection port (the only way I could think to ID it), but I just can't find it anywhere. Any ideas?

Not a UTG rail, any other marks on the upper?

And that's definitely going to be changing soon... haha.

Doesn't help out too much on the barrel though... knowing that all the parts are some custom put-together mutt of a gun. I know the front sight post will be replaced with a picatinny gas block. I'm thinking the barrel is a 1:9 twist, but I'm not quite sure on how to check.

There weren't any other marks on the upper receiver, that's why it was so hard to find.

If you change the front post you will have to change the rail.

Is that right.... I got an extra set of rail covers, i'll have to see if they'll work or not. The plan is to mount an ACOG and not worry about the front post or rail cover. Don't need any tacticool lazurs or light-mounts for this rifle.... yet.

Re: Help ID This Upper?

The ACOG does sit high enough to not worry about the front post for single dot configurations, but I haven't seen them with ballistic reticles. Is the wash-out "washy" enough to still use the 400-600 meter compensator for the .223/5.56 reticles?
