Looking for a powered case trimmer for High volume 223 and 6.5 creed, will be adding 308 down the road.

Not wanting to spend the money on a giraud at the moment.

Leaning more towards worlds finest trimmer or Frankford arsenal.

With the frankford I’ve heard it’s best to replace the cutter head with a carbide rcbs head, and it’d be handy to chamfer and deburr quickly.

The wft seems simpler and less parts to fail but it doesn’t chamfer/deburr and maybe a bit more messy in terms of brass chips flying everywhere.

Any other suggestions, reviews of the 2 choices above or why you chose what you have would be great.

Thanks

I would have said giraud triway as it will chamfer and deburr all in one but they dont offer it in 6.5 for some crazy reason, they would own the market.

I would probably go with the frankford just to have the chamfer and deburr steps powered. Manual anything sucks. Triway2 Trimit2 is another option but I fear you would spend more time adjusting it each time you change calibers than you would spend trimming unles you bought one for each caliber.

I have the Giraud TriWay in 223 and 308. I absolutely love them. I can’t emphasize that enough. I used to trim with a Sinclair hand powered unit that I connected to the drill. I hated trimming.

The TriWay accurately trims chamfers and deburrs all in one quick step. My only regret is that I didn’t get the Giraud Powered Trimmer. Would be much nicer than the hand drill I’m using to power the TriWay and I’d have an option for 6.5.

I have the FA and did change the cutter as you described and have had very good results with it. One thing to watch if you trimming a couple 100 pieces at a time is the locking ring, I got to 120 and it loosened a bit. Close to 1000 cases so far in the last couple months and very pleased.

Giraud does have 6.5 Creedmoor as an option.

As of a year ago when I spoke to him on the phone it wasn’t and he said he had no intention. But that was a year ago. That’s why I went with the full trimmer though ultimately I went with a 6xc over creed since it wasn’t any more hassle at that point, I already had the trimmer and plenty of options to choose from.

Can you point my in the direction of the cutter you swapped to?

Not sure I follow?

The little button that goes in the face of the cutter and ensures the case is centered.

I would think that the case holder in the frankford takes care of all that though.
