Hey guys,
First post here, though I've used the forum for searching, I finally have gotten around to registering/posting.
Anyways, I currently have a Remington 700 ADL in .270 win (24" Sporter barrel, long action, blind internal magazine obviously). I definitely hate the look and feel of the factory "plastic" stock and plan on putting a nice stock on it, and why go half way when I can get some of the best in the business. Though I may not be shooting for 1000 yard competitions, I will be putting the rifle through it's paces with range days, and regular hunting. Which brings me to my purposes...I get to the range about once a month and then the rifle sees 3-4 weeks of hunting a year. I hunt a property where we ride golf carts out to elevated blinds and shoot from rests. (We rough it, lol!). Carrying the rifle is not a problem since we don't have to walk a great distance (No more than half a mile), and once we get to the blinds we shoot like we're at the range on tables and rests.
Stocks I'm thinking so far are an A5, Game Scout, Game Warden, or A3 Sporter. I really like the look and feel of the vertical pistol grip that you get with the tactical McMillans. Also as far as ordering, only the A5 and Game Warden can be ordered as of now online, the rest would take a good deal while longer to be made. I'll rarely shoot prone, if ever honestly. The field grass is too tall and the range doesn't have areas to lay down on...Which points to the Game Warden/Scout/Sporter right?
Anyways, drop your suggestions and please don't be afraid to post pictures of what you got, I love looking at some eye candy.
