I'll be delving into .260 thanks to a friend sending me a LaRue barrel he had leftover from a promo of some kind. A necessary part of the task once I get the upper all situated will naturally be loading ammo for it. Milsurp brass seems to be the way to go for gas guns and I have a bunch laying around. So next on the shopping list appears to be dies and something to ream and/or turn the necks. I've got some experience doing various rifle calibers but not specifically this sort of thing, so my questions are as follows:
1. When resizing from .308 to .260 will I need to turn the outside or the inside of the neck, or both? I've heard of donuts and gather I need to deal w/ it.
2. Resize to .308 first then through the .260 die to form, or just the latter?
3. How much difference will match grade dies on this make versus the usual Hornady or maybe Redding? Where and how much do you see the returns on extra money? I might be shooting some PRS with this at some point. My club's range reaches to about 730 yards.
