I just heard from Zen biker about local guy, whom I know as well, here in central Virginia, former Viet Nam Army sniper, who is having problems...health issues which lead to money problems which lead to not eating well or getting medical help, which leads to health problems. He used to give LR instruction so many of you probably know him. I wont put his name up out of respect for his pride. Im contacting the local Red Cross who does a lot of good for military families...I know the local chapter personally so hold the negative comments. RC may have its short comings but they do a lot of good.

Zen is going to contact the VFW. We're going to go visit before long and see if there is anything we can do personally. If anyone would like to contribute, get in touch. and we can start some sort of fund.

To those who sent funds, I didnt get to the PO this weekend but will on Monday and will get eveyrthing forwarded to the gentleman in need. Thanks for all.

My Thanks to Mag for his efforts, this is a great way to help those that have more than earned our support. For this man and all of you who have put yourselves in harms way for your country and people like me, you are deeply appreciated.

C'mon Guys, belly up to the bar and lend a helping hand. Doesn't have to be much, but the more the better.

Ive got all that was promised. Counting local we've got $300 and one fellow who offered part of a cow hes butchering. Its going out today.

Ive found that giving money to help others is like planting seeds that go into the earth, sprout, bear fruit, and return the gift 10 fold.

Is that snowflake enough for ya'll?

BTW, thanks to Ore'gun Fred and Washington Kevin

maggot, Got your voicemail today. Been a long day but the short version is I haven't gotten the call from the butcher yet. Soon as I have everything I'll get with you and figure out a way to catch up with you.

thats not snowflake, its the Bible.

I'm poor for quoting exact verse but it says give your percent to do God's work and it will be returned over and over. helping a man down, whether he a vet (major respect to all vets in my house) or anyone downand out is where it is for me.
I bet many of us have had a struggle or two in our lives, some we could handle without another man helping and some of us needed help.

Yep, but we're not supposed to do religion here so I just made an end around run.

    oh yeah......

Well, it was out of love. It is the kindness that was instilled in us that leads us to do amazing things such as this. Or Sirhr's fronting the money for patches to raise money for other vets. Or any countless dozens of great things just Hiders do daily for their fellow man because it needs done and its the right thing.

i think this quote could be the go to for many here
"Integrity has no need for a set of rules"

    Amen, brother.

And knowing that someday, somewhere, I may need the same help and hoping this 'Pays it forward' to use an over used term.

So many have given so much more.

    Mag,

No need to thank me, in fact I need to thank you. I appreciate the opportunity to donate when I know that all of it is going to benefit someone who needs a hand. All the better that it's going to a brother from my era.
