By land mass, the majority of this state is Red to the last drop of their blood. The state is run by three counties. All three are dyed in their collective Patagonia polar fleece commies. There is no doubt about it. Is there a high probability that the House of Representatives moves this to our tyrant governor for signature? No doubt about it. Will I be able to look into the mirror every morning knowing that I tried my best to stop this bullshit from happening? Yes.
Move out of the state? Most likely. I can retire in 2 years. Giving up ground to commies, makes me want to puke. All I’m asking is that you think about how all of this bullshit legislation starts on the west coast and slowly moves across our nation. It has taken hold on the East too. Less than five minutes of your time, too at least make them think about what they are doing, if even for a moment. It is worth it to me. I’m just asking for some help from my brothers.

It’s really pushing on one of a few red lines my family has for moving out of the state, and it seems like they’re all being pushed (except for homeschooling, for some reason we seem to be doing ok with support for that here.) I’m grateful I have a job now that will allow me to move out of state. We are fighting that here in MD. Similar situation. A few counties run the entire state. Then the Gerrymandering is beyond nuts. They banned mags over 10 rounds in 2012. They still were limited to 20 prior to that. Politicians are trash.

Those that feel like running to another state that is more conservative are welcome to do so. The outcome is the same and maybe the exercise of running away will be good for you. The reality is that you simply make it harder for the real conservatives.

The one world order group has been working on this slowly and quietly for the last 60+years. If you did not see it coming you have either been in denial or choosing to not look. Recently in the most liberal city in the US (San Francisco) recalled 3 of the crazies on the SF school board. People got together and talked through it and then moved thought to action. Unlike some of you they did not cut and run.

In my little town in CA a big developer bought a lot of land and sat on it for 5 years. In that time frame he got 3 of the 5 county supervisors to see things his way. But when it became clear that phase 1 of the development was to move 1300 acres into 1/3 acre parcels people got alarmed and, with all due respect, our crazy neighbor lady led the charge. Everyone pitched in $50 and we got a lawyer to stall the approval process. That bought us enough time to stack the board meetings. Then we pitched in money and time to get better supervisors in. A year ago the parcels were sold to a cattleman. Now on to the next thing....

I choose to stay and fight and win. If you dont have the spine for it thats ok. I get it. The "Art of War" has a lot of strange words and you have to actually think. Maybe you will find a really great spicey red currant jelly recipe you can make or a super fun knitting club.

Sadly, they will still pass it and they'll publicly state "We had overwhelming support for this bill". That's what they did in Virginia. We had people show up at meetings and speak. Their would be 98 people (not exaggerating) speaking in opposition to 2A bills and 2 people from out of state, and members of some gun rights org, speaking for the new laws.

The recap would be that the majority were for the new restrictions, then they'd vote and pass the bill.

Luckily, we've thrown some of them out of office and are fixing to throw more out this fall.

Not sure I am making a mistake the two regarding the people I am thinking about however I will concede that the line between the two can be pretty fine.

If you have been fighting the fight and have a plan then my quarrel is not with you. However, if your solution is to retreat and then magically you are going to start to fight? Nope.....I dont believe you.

To your comment about it not being the right time I am not sure what there is to wait for. This is a multigeneration effort and, in my opinion, the path forward is in smaller, incremental shifts in the culture. Politics always follows culture so the culture needs to change first. So I strategy is to try to get them raised right, for them to carry on the effort after I cant, gently lead people to a different way of thinking through my actions and measured conversations.

Personally, I welcome others into the effort. Just dont waste everyones time by being THAT person that is spending more time cracking a beer, watching the NBA, or spending hours obsessing over the nuances of a new scope rather than working to change the culture. Senate Bill 5078 prohibits the sale, attempted sale and distribution of high-capacity magazines. It does not prohibit the possession of high-capacity magazines.
