Hi All-
Hoping some of the KAC collectors / users can help me here. I’m trying get an idea of the value of this rifle. It’s not mine, but was asked to help by a friend.
The upper and lower receiver are KAC SR25 and the SN indicates it was sold as a complete SR25 rifle in 1993 (I emailed KAC). Someone cannibalized the factory SR25 and then built a rifle from the upper and lower. The only original KAC parts are the upper and lower. Barrel is DPMS, gas block unknown, Midwest Ind forearm, unknown BCG, Troy charging handle, Magpul stock, unknown (shitty) trigger.
I did test-fire it with 3 rounds of factory 150 fmj and it ran. Also tried 4 rounds of my a 175 SMK handload I had on the shelf and it gave me a 3/4” group.
Rifle is very clean and I was told owner shot about 100 rounds through it.
I know KAC stuff is pretty pricey but I don’t know actual values and have no idea what a Franken SR 25 like this would be worth. My guess is someone would just gut this for the receivers to build a clone.
The optic is a Leupold Mk4 LR/T 4.5-14x40. Mil TMR and MOA turret. Mount is Yankee Hill Machine.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks for your time.
Nick-
