I'm sure a few peeps here remember these good ol' rigs. I found a rail attachment that might work for what I want but i wasn't sure about the overall height with other brand rings compared to the Ruger style rings. Anyone have some good feedback about the Weigand stuff?

Wow, someone finally made a pic rail for it. I just have what I’m pretty sure are high 1” leupold rings on two m77s both with 50mm scopes. Their spec is 1.025”, if you were to add a base onto that, which I imagine is around .3” tall or so, then some greater than .7 picatinny rings should be a safe bet.

My only issue with the D&T process is I really don't need a new scope. LOL I just want a new scope. My MKII has feed more animals their last meal of terminal impact using an old BuckMaster scope circa 1990's. It wasn't until a few years after 2010 that I got a decent Ziess as an upgrade. That one worked for just as well in the last few years. I was thinking of dropping a 30mm tube Vortex on the top with a 50mmOBJ. Maybe I'll just keep the Ruger as is so the Vortex can ride the Encore.

I was able to decipher the Ruger site a little bit. They show for a 30mm tube, 52mm OBJ to run a high front ring with an extra high rear ring. I'll look at the Leupold site.

Leupold makes a set of rings for what you are doing. I put a 30 mm tube with 50mm obj. On my old m77 mk2 28 inch varminter or what the hell ever they call it.
