Rifle Scopes Help with. Leupold Mark 4 CQ/T scope

Re: Help with. Leupold Mark 4 CQ/T scope

I sold mine but I'll help you as best I can. Getting the battery caddy out of the scope is the odd part since instead of screwing out you turn it slightly and it pulls out. Now you have that tight fitting battery caddy with its funny shaped plastic cap in your hands. This is less complicated because it simply unscrews and the battery then slides out.

Take note, the fit of the battery in the caddy is very tight. This may be the problem you are having. You may have to thump the caddy on a phone book to coax out a stuck battery. If you have a little corrosion in the far end you might even have to remove the battery by drilling a screw into the exposed end of the battery (the end you just exposed by removing the cap) and pulling it out but this is to be avoided if possible since it would involve rupturing the battery in the process and releasing its basic, or in the case of lithium, more dangerous, innards.

Alternately, these cadys are designed to protect the optic from leaky batteries and are expendable. I believe they are $20.
