So does anyone know if anyone that can install a MOA Reticle in a Mark 4 scope that has MOA / IPHY Turrent Adjustments? I just got the scope off of the PX here on the hide and Leupold will not tell mw when they will offer to convert the adjustment to a M5 Turrents so I was wondering if there is an option to convert the Reticle to fit the current MOA adjustments.

This is my first tacticial scope so I'm not married to MOA and I'm not married to MIL but I do need to get the Reticle talking to the Turrents...

I think Holland offers some type of reticle swap but I really do not know if it is the way to go..???
If it matters it is a Mark 4 4.5X14-50 with a Duplex currently...

Thanks for the help...

I'd follow the 2 step plan...

1) Sell it.
2) Buy a used Nightforce.

You'll soon get to the point where you realize what you have invested - and regret it.

Half of the guys that I talked to at leupold said the M5 turret models have a totally different scope housing internally than the normal M1 fitted scope. However they are working towards a retrofit m5 turret that would work in a M1 model scope. Don't hold your breath. So it looks like you are going to have to change both the reticle and the turrets. That scope you have would be a good prairie dog scope or target scope maybe switch to a different rifle or try to sell it.

Re: Help with Mark 4 Reticle Swap.....

It's going on a Do-it-all hunting rifle for now so I will probably leave well enough alone as I feel I got a really good deal on it.

I might even move it to the AR in a couple of years until I can get into a piece of german glass.

Thanks for the insight all in all it sounds like I need to laser range finder the distance and dial both the elev. and windage for longer shots....

But it appears from your comments I need to refrain for putting more dough in this scope....and use it either at known ranges or hunting situations....

Thanks for your comments.....

Is it a duplex reticle? If its a dot or a TMR there is nothing wrong with it.

There are far too many posers posters that blindly say that a scope is worthless if the turrets and reticle do not match. Matching is a good thing, but if a shooter's brain is too smooth to wrap itself around the ability to run a scope that worked for decades they need to play with model trains, not rifles.

Old style mil/moa is not something most folks are buying now, but don't let that stop you from using what you have effectively.

I think that most shooters that have mastered mil/moa are a step ahead in thinking on their own and understanding the concepts better anyway.

Use JBM or similar to print your data in moa/mil and rock on with your bad self. When fate smiles and you can upgrade you will know which you prefer and will then be choosing on your own experience, not the references of the internet peanut gallery.

Re: Help with Mark 4 Reticle Swap.....

Said well sobrbiker 883,I would just send it to LEUPOLD and have the reticle changed to mildot or TMR and shoot the hell out of it.And not even worry about everyone and thier mil/mil.

Re: Help with Mark 4 Reticle Swap.....

Will do it is a Duplex but for $160 I can have it swapped. Will probably do that in due time and I will still have a pretty good scope for well under what a new mil/mil setup is....

I believe the options are to use the mil reticle to determine the distance, dial in the elevation and use the reticle for mil windage hold overs??

Anytway that is how I plan to start and we will see where it goes from there.

Re: Help with Mark 4 Reticle Swap.....

If you can come to grips with just having your reticle upgraded, that's not too bad.

Your initial post sounded like reinventing the wheel with a reticle AND turrets, which would make it just as cost effective to sell and start over.

None of my scopes "match". Check out the Mildot Master for a product that makes these calculations a little easier.

Re: Help with Mark 4 Reticle Swap.....

It's times like this that I wish that Leupold and Premier were still in bed together. I have a Mk4 that i'd like to change some things to suit my needs now, and the scope is great, I don't want to get rid of it and get something else, but because those two split, it looks like i'll have to.

It's moa turrets, and mil reticule. I don't have a problem making the conversions in my head and on the fly, but i really would like to make the change to mil/mil.
