HENRY: "IT AIN'T NO SHOW PONY"...

"Made in America or not made at all".

Announced first at Shot Show 2024 with a lot of excitement and following from the adherents of the Gospel of Wood and Steel, but delayed until today, Henry Repeating Arms have just came out with an official release that their Lever Action Supreme Rifle in 5.56x45mm NATO or .300 Blackout is now AVAILABLE and shipments are en route to Henry dealers nationwide.

Built on the Homesteader outline but with Henry's rock solid lever action mechanism. Takes standard AR magazines. Rifles are shipped with a 10 round Magpul PMAG with removable 5 round limiter to meet hunting regulations. 18" barrel for 5.56 and 16.5" for .300BK. Barrels are threaded for cans.

    MSRP: $1,200-$1,400

    FROM THE INDUSTRY:

You KNOW something is going on when regular paced trad hunting and bow boards are suddenly buzzing with activity. Either something new is coming out, or somebody got a new record shattering trophy game/fish, or somebody made a shot at a range far exceeding the usual accepted parameters of a certain platform, verified and documented...

They sure drug it through the ugly before releasing it.

It has that Winchester 1871 look though, and it's parent frame, the Homesteader, got a bit of the Mini-14/M1 carbine look and semiauto performance to boot.

It's FAR better in both appearance and tactical worth than a "Tactical Lever Action". :ROFLMAO: Being able to run all your 5.56 AR mags and ammo through it is extra sweet.

I'm hoping they release a mare's leg version that you could SBR!

Edit: I'm an idiot. In thinking about it, with the mag fed design not tube fed, you could easily just SBR it and chop the barrel.

A full review, with some Willys Jeep goodness.

Seems like Henry has made a true 'tactical lever action' with the LASR. A rifle that is pretty much legal to be taken across all 50 states on a roadtrip without hassle with the exception of certain really mentally challenged localities. Legal for sale as well as in Canada, Australia, and the UK. That runs on widely available NATO components and chambering.

In the background, my brain has been in a slow burn trying to rationalize the purchase of this gun. 😆

The best I can come with is for coyotes in winter, where an AR can have more potential problems than a bolt gun (of course, I’ve read ways to degrease an AR and have done it, but still). In my limited experience with lever actions, I can work them faster than bolts, which is no surprise to anyone.

Levers are not a good fit for shooting pdogs off a bench. I don’t shoot deer, but that would be a good use.

I wonder how hard it is to attach a pic rail or Arca plate to the front of the magwell? I own an RRS Vyce clamp, so I could use that. But rail-to-ballhead is a stiffer connection.
