Hey I'm a new member to this site and new to pro long range shooting. My whole family shoot and my familys known around our small town for being dead accurate. That said I am 16 and just recently got a long range / coyote rifle built its a Savage 110 long action 243 it has a timin trigger, choate stock,a 6-24x50 barska scope with a sunshade. When it was a stock hunting rifle it would shoot a fourth inch group at 100 so its a accurat gun I was just ondering 1. The scope I have has mil dots and 1/8in tourents wich should I use and 2. I just need some genreal pointers

Thanks , Geary

What if he wants to procreate?

ETA: Your optic probably has 1/8 MOA adjustments rather than 1/8 inch. As for general pointers. Just read. Read this entire website. Most of people's opinions on how to shoot or what equipment to shoot with is simply what works for them.

You should do your best to TRY everything you are recommended to try and find what actually works for you.

Re: hey new member with some questions

1. You are not a pro.
2. Spell check before posting.
3. Get rid of your scope and get a Super Sniper or a Vortex Viper PST.
4. Stop telling people on the interwebs that you have a quarter minute rifle.
5. Shoot the crap out of it.
6. Sign up for the online training here.
7. Do lots of reading...lots. There is a huge amount of info here.
8. Use the search features... a lot.
9. Learn the basics of ballistic performance and angular corrections.
10. Learn to reload.
11. Please, stay in school and learn, particularly grammar.
12. Welcome and good luck.
