Hi everyone I just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. I am an avid shooter, an NRA instructor and an armorer for several types of pistols. That being said while I am pretty good with a pistol I am not at all good with a rifle. So with that in mind I went out and purchased a Savage MKII FV-SR 22lr so that I can learn and hopefully improve. My end goal is to become a fairly good shooter with a scoped rifle. I plan to learn on the 22 for a while before getting a bolt action .223 (I know that will somewhat limit me but my range options only go to 500 yards or so) it seems like it would fit my needs while still being fairly economical to shoot. I look forward to learning from all of you.

Excellent caliber for that range, should do you just fine and save money over .308 or otherwise as well.

New Hampsha, eh? Where abouts. I grew up in Lempster, near Newport, Claremont, and Keene. Currently live far too close to Philthadelphia, PA----I'm worried about getting shot by errant buck-shot from Joe Biden's wife if she should get scared and follow his advice......
