Many of you have been asking me about it: The POF that was donated to the Hide Cup arrived a few days ago with the Trijicon TA11 3.5x35 (BDC reticle) mounted on it.
After no barrel break-in, and having been shot by all 65 shooters at the match, I took it out of the box, still dirty, still no lube, and went to sight it in with a box of Black Hills 77gr SMK's. I had no place to rest it, so I propped it against a barricade and fired a few groups at 100m standing:
OK. So I know that the rifle, with me behind it, rested offhand, will shoot 1.5 MOA all day long. So, off to 200m I went.
For groups 3 and 4, shot together, still standing-up, I rested the forend on a wooden rail to steady the rifle:
The trigger's a bit heavy, at about 5 lbs, so I yanked the trigger on one shot, but that's five of six shots inside of just over two inches at 200 meters, or about 1 MOA - standing up using a 3.5x optic. The split group is a result of my inability to get a consistent cheek weld on the collapsible stock.
As you can see, the groups didn't open up very much from 100m to 200m. I can't wait to get it prone on a bi-pod and do some more serious testing. But so far the results of my very unscientific study is that this POF shoots better than I do! Thanks, Frank, for making a very serious rifle.
