My 2 cents
I like to shoot pump action rifles too. They are simple and fun.
As far as pump actions go, I own a Remington 7600 pump in.308, an 870 7+1 express 12 GA and an old Field Master .22
I use my guns for fun shooting and defense.
I wanted to get a rifle I could shoot .308 out to 2 or 3 hundred yards.
I didn't want to spend a lot of money and I wanted it to hold 10 rounds - (neutered Californian)
I purchased the Remington 7600 because of their reputation and saw I this video ;
10 Shots of Remington 7600 Pump Action - YouTube
After purchasing the 7600 I found that Remington dose not make firearms like they used to, (stamped out and poorly fit & finished).
I bought 10 round mags that wouldn't feed right and got my money back.
The 4 round mags that come with the rifle jammed up on me frequently as well. I was getting real pissed off and disappointed that I bought the 7600.
I finally learned all about my rifle and disassembled it completely, sanded and polished all the sharp edges on everything including the mags.
I went from very disappointed to really happy at how accurate and smooth it operates now.
I'm not that good, but I can hit clays with my iron sights at 200 yards, so that makes me happy
ORD is right on.
Even though it looks fun to rapid fire 10 rounds of .308 like the video, It's not a good idea. Dollar bills flying out, I'm not rich.
I really just wanted ten round mags so I don't have to load often. So I'm in the same boat as you, looking for good 10 rounders for the 7600.
I've come to the realization that no manufacturers care to build after market magazine or mag wells for these rifles.
I can't believe how little thought was put into the mag system by Remington. I wish they made them more like an AK or AR, simple and secure.
I'm still looking for good 10 RD .308 mags, but I'm probably going to have to shape and smooth out a crappy one to get it to work well.
Let me know if you find good ones.
I like how my rifle works now because I'm more practical about it's use. I shoot heart sized targets with irons out at 1 - 2 hundred yards.
Also I might ad that ammo prices have driven me to shoot AK-74 5.45 and .22's for my rapid fire needs.
