A local gun shop has a HS sport king M-103. I'm looking for an accurate target pistol for a reasonable price. I'm leaning towards the Beretta NEOS, however would love to have something more unique like this if it performs. Does anyone have any experience with these? Thanks.

Re: High Standard pistol

If it's a Hamden (I think, Connecticut or NH anyway) model then it will be a great shooter, use only standard velocity ammo with those. If it's from Texas then the quality is hit or miss. Some are great, others are rough.

Re: High Standard pistol

I was planning on running eley sport or equivalent target ammo through it going about 1050fps . But the local target sells Federal 40gr target ammo that runs at 1200 fps. It's very accurate through my rifle and is very convenient to pick up. Would that be ok through this pistol? It is built in Connecticut.

I absolutely will not shoot the stingers or mini mags or velocitor ammo through it.

I had one years back and for the most part it was a great pistol. Not of the accuracy etc of the Trophy, Citation or Victors but descent! Only issue you may have is parts if you need them or finding extra mags for a reasonable price.

Well...the issue is that the frame can fail with higher velocity rounds. I'm not sure what the tolerances are or where they draw the line, but it's a bummer to crack up a neat old gun. I know there are guys who run HV rounds through theirs without issues, but I have a Ruger for that, my Citation gets SV.
