HiPower vs CZ75

I had both and sold both. They are both fine pistols, just heavy for EDC. I had a Cylinder and Slide trigger installed on the High Power. It was probably one of the fastest pistols I could shoot with.

Interesting POV

I just weighted a CZ P-10F and a CZ 75BD side by side. Both with an empty mag inserted. Both with iron sights (no optics to add weight)

P-10F: 30 oz

75BD: 36 oz

Not as big a difference as you might think looking at them, and even less of a difference when you wear a decent holster and belt.

I've always wondered what JMB would have imagined if he had been able to handle a CZ-75 before designing the Hi Power.

JMB designing the love child of the 1911 and a CZ-75? I'm betting it would not even remotely be a Hi Power

Considering that my G23 or Hellcat weighs less loaded I'll carry those.

I shoot the G23 and the Hellcat just fine. I competed/ trained with the G23 for decades so I handle it just fine. The Hellcat isn't snappy for me and shoot it about as good as the G23. Flush mags while in the holster or pocket. Higher caps in the mag pouches.

I had a HiPower for years in late 80's and used it for IPSC. I found that it had a propensity for rocking up quite a bit. I guess due to the lighter front end of slide and barrel vs the heavier rear of the gun. I got it magnaported and it reduced the rocking affect but there was not much to be done about the trigger without having the slide custom refit.
Also had the 1911's in 38 Super and Glock 17's back then which didn't rock up so much which translated to helping me shoot faster double taps.

Went to Para Ordinance then 2011's a bit later.

A couple times lately I've wanted a CZ Shadow 2 because the grip fits my hand better and trigger is light.

A few friends have CZ75's and they feel good to shoot.
