We are supposed to get the semi HK 416 (and maybe 417) next year I thought, not sure what impact military contracts will have on that though.

They have been available in Canada since at least Feb 2009. That's when I got mine anyway.
Rifle: HK MR223
Mount: Nightforce Unimount 1.125 (Same height as the HK irons)
Scope: Nightforce NXS 1-4x24 with FC2 reticle
I like it. It goes a long time between cleanings and always goes bang.

There was a thread on calguns and HK Pro where supposedly HK confirmed that there will be a version (working or not nobody seems to know) at Shot Show.
They were originally going to offset the pin so you couldn't use it with a regular AR lower.
Supposedly this is because in European countries the upper is considered the firearm whereas in the US it is the opposite. They were going to leave it that way but a lot of people in the US moaned about it.
This decision has altered the production schedule and they will be available at a later time next year.
Everything HK gives a date for add 6 months too and don't be disappointed if it's 4 times that long.
I love all of my HK toys though.
