When I dial for yardage I've never ran out of adjustment on my big bore rifles. For my .22 let's say I run out of adjustment at 225yrds and want to get my hold over dope out to 300yrds should I dial back to my 200yrd and start getting from there or just leave it at 225yrds and start?

Re: Hold over dope

Over all you will be able to shoot farther if you stay at 225.

depending on how close I was to a 0 on my dial I might just go to that then hold. Like 2 revs and then hold... ect

I played around with this alot back when I was using at 2.5x10-44 tasco mildot to shoot 500 yards with the .22 ha ha with that I would max it out then dial back power and hold. ha ha

Re: Hold over dope

I am getting started with this,,Bushy Elite 10X on the CZ 455 Varmint,,

I mounted it with Burris Signature rings and kept swapping inserts to where my 25 yard zero was 5-6 MOA from the bottom of adjustments,,I wound up with 40 Minutes of taper,,setup like this I liked a little being able to zero at 400,,I just max it out and found my holds to get on at 400,,it was between 2-3 mils holdover,,

400 is a long freaking way for a 22LR,,but it is doable,,about the same dope shooting a mile with the 338 LM
