Hello

Got a P226 TacOps 9mm/Surefire X400. Looking for a holster that would work for CCW, as well as on the range/field. Looking at First Spear SSV Pistol Holster, Weapon Light (see link below):
FirstSpear, LLC :: Holsters and Molded Products :: Belt Holsters :: SSV Pistol Holster, Weapon Light

Anyone using it? Comments good or bad?

Better suited holsters out there? Also contacted Raven Concealment and Safariland, waiting for answer. If you know of other good options, would appreciate input. Lets keep it Made in USA, Vet owned even better.

Thanks Layton

I use Crossbreed for a shield, works well but want to stay with OWB for the p226/x400; it's a big rig. Not for EDC but it is nice to have the option available.
So far, got an answer from Raven and Blackhawk, they do not make a kydex holster for that combo.
I have not heard back from Safariland.
Did a bit more searching today
Sent an email today to Bravo Concealment, already got an answer. They do not have one at this moment but most likely will, sometimes this year.
In addition to First Spear, looks like Blade Tech, High Threat Concealment, Black Point and TR holsters do make holsters for that combo. Other companies such as Tactical Tailor have great gear but not looking for any drop down, as I like the conceal carry option.
At least there are options; still would like to hear from guys with 1st hand experience, always better.

I think I'm up to about 8 holsters and 2 mag pouches from blackpoint. I love them. They're built like tanks. And the guys that run the shop are great too. They're local to me. They're not the cheapest, but you get your money's worth. If they don't advertise the gun/light combo that you want, shoot them a call and they'll take care of you.

For the the range or field I like one of the Safariland 7TS holsters. You can get what ever security level you like (ALS) and you can adapt it to what ever mounting system you like. Holsterops.com usually has good prices and they run specials if you are on their email list.

100% going with Safariland. Was looking at the 6390-7742 (that's a mouth full) but the 7TS 7365 is a great choice as well. Looking into this, will pull the trigger on one of these next week.
That holster search is as complex as looking for your next scope...lol!
Thanks a bunch, stay safe and good shooting.

Hello

Didn't go on the Hide for a while but to put that one (post) to rest... Moved the X300 and X400 from one 226 to another; X400 went on a 226 Scorpion and find home in a Blackpoint Tactical holster, great holster, see link below:

I have meat around the bones, dress accordingly and it works for me as EDC on most occasions; when not doable, then Shield/Crossbreed.

Thanks for all input, you guys rock!

Just ran into this post, I have a SIG TACOPS with a x300, got the First Spear holster for it. OWB, big rig. Got to have the right belt to as the loops are tight, great company though, glad you got sorted out.
